We explore the deep on a single breath
Founded in 2019, Casca Diving Club was born from a shared obsession with the silence beneath the surface. Freediving — or apnea — is the art of diving without scuba equipment, relying solely on breath-hold and mental calm.
We train in the pool and open water, offer certified AIDA and SSI courses, and organise regular trips to some of Europe's most breathtaking dive sites. Our club is for everyone — no experience required.

Freediving Disciplines
Freediving is a diverse sport with many specialities. We train across all major AIDA disciplines in pool and open-water environments.
Constant Weight (CWT)
CWTThe most popular discipline — dive down and return using fins and/or arms, keeping the same weight throughout the dive.
Static Apnea (STA)
STAFloat face-down in the water and hold your breath as long as possible. Pure mental discipline — no movement, just stillness.
Dynamic Apnea (DYN)
DYNSwim horizontally in a pool as far as possible on a single breath, with or without fins.
Free Immersion (FIM)
FIMDescend and ascend using the rope hand-over-hand with no fins. A great discipline for beginners and equalisation practice.
No Fins (CNF)
CNFThe purest form of freediving — dive deep using only dolphin kick and arm strokes. Considered the most technically demanding.
Spearfishing
SPEARSustainable and ethical spearfishing for members who want to combine freediving with the age-old practice of hunting underwater.

Weekly pool session focusing on static apnea, dynamic with fins, and CO₂ tolerance tables. All levels welcome.
AIDA 2 Freediver Course
2-day AIDA Level 2 certification course for complete beginners. Includes theory, pool work, and open-water dives.
Open Water Dive Day
Club day trip to crystal-clear Azorean waters. Explore underwater lava formations at depths of 10–25m.
Spearfishing Ethics Workshop
An evening seminar on sustainable spearfishing practices, regulations, and underwater ecology.
Internal Depth Competition
Annual friendly club competition across CWT, FIM, and CNF disciplines. Prizes for top performers in each category.
Night Dive Adventure
Experience the ocean after dark with bioluminescence and a completely different underwater landscape.
